The Boma Simba Experience

This is the Tsavo East Safari experience done right.
Expect warm welcomes, jaw dropping views, and wildlife that shows up like it owns the place (because, honestly, it does). Every detail here is built around one goal: giving you the safari story you’ll tell for years.
When the sun drops and the day’s adventures wind down, your cozy cabin is waiting. Kick off your boots, breathe in the cool night air, and get ready to do it all again tomorrow.

Every tent is thoughtfully spaced from its neighbors, so privacy is never in short supply. Whether you’re winding down after a dawn safari or gearing up for a sundowner by the fire, the luxury tented suites strike that rare balance: wild enough to feel like an adventure, comfortable enough to feel like home.

Boma Shimba Lodge - a place that stays with you We visited Boma Shimba Lodge during our trip through Tsavo East – and these are exactly the kind of places that make a journey truly special. I’ll be honest, before arriving I was a bit skeptical because I had read some reviews about the room size. And yes, the rooms are rather compact. But it honestly didn’t bother us at all. Everything was clean, well-kept, and it just felt right for the setting. What really stays with you is something else. The garden is beautiful, the pool is the perfect place to unwind after a long day on safari. That quiet moment, the light, just sitting there and realizing: this is why I came. The staff is incredibly warm – attentive, friendly, and genuinely welcoming. A very special thank you to Esther – so kind and present, she made us feel at home immediately. The food was really good, but my personal highlight was the coffee. I never expected to have such an amazing coffee in the middle of Tsavo. And then Joseph, the manager, even took the time to share a bit of his secret with us – these are the small, human moments that make a trip unforgettable.

In my opinion, I love this place because I’m so close to the park. It’s easy to come out of this place and go straight into Tsavo East. Breakfast is from 5:30 am in the morning. This allows you time to eat and then jump in the car straight to the park which is less than one minute away. The park opens at 6 am. There are improvements that would be nice such as having a couple of camping chairs in the room and a fridge. but apart from that the food has been excellent the quietness that you get around here is amazing being able to get a full night sleep and wake up and sit with a cup of tea in your hand and relax on your balcony is amazing. I’m from England but live in Kennya and I would definitely recommend this place if you would like cold water and you have your own bottles they will put in a fridge or freezer that they have behind the reception. They’re very accommodating and the food has been excellent if I haven’t already said that I will say it again.

Very close to the park, the place is authentic and really beutiful! The staff is very very friendly and helpful. I would like to specially thank and recommend the Chef Tony, the meals he prepared were super tasty, I couldnt get enough of the food he prepared. He is also a really friendly and funny guy, his character brigthens up your day! Also the owner joined us on our group at the bonfire that was lit, he is very friendly and we had a nice conversation about the beuties of Kenya. The rooms were really nice in a bungalow style that adds to the authenticity. I would definitely recommend the place to visit and have a good time!

The new rooms are very cozy and the ambience is very good. Shares a fence with the park and we did get to see elephants during the evening. The hosts are also very helpful as they went out of their way to cater to my strict dietary needs. Enjoyed my stay. Highly recommend.

It was a pleasure to stay with Boma Simba. Me and my fiancé (I proposed to her on a safari tour organiced by Boma Simba) and I felt so welcome. The service was immaculate and the entire staff was incredibly thoughtful and kind. On my fiancés birthday she was presented with a cake while the whole staff sang for her. The location is perfect since you basically are in the park close to the Voi gate to Tsavo east. The food, the roomservice, the pool, the staff and the ownership have been phenomenal. I know this sounds made up but it’s true. If you need reassurance @ me on instagram and I will confirm this review (okeytredway). We will 100% recommend this place to our friends and family. Thank you Boma Simba for a once in a lifetime experience P.S. We recommend the driver the lodge organized for us ( I think his name is Dominik)
